PCCA increased its potential to add more value to its members' cotton by creating warehouse divisions in 1963. The divisions began with two warehouse facilities, Oklahoma Cotton Cooperative Association (OCCA) in Altus, OK, and Rolling Plains Cooperative Compress (RPCC) in Sweetwater, TX. A third warehouse facility at Liberal, KS, was constructed in 2005 to handle increased cotton production in that area. In 2008 the RPCC and OCCA divisions were combined to form a single PCCA Warehousing Division.
The warehouse division continues to perform an important role in the cotton supply infrastructure as storage and shipping facilities. Combined storage capacity at all locations is 1.2 million bales of cotton. This capacity provides consistent annual dividends paid to PCCA members whose cotton is stored at these facilities, thus adding value to their cotton.
