PCCA’s President & CEO, Kevin Brinkley, has been elected as the newest Chairman of the Board of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.
A native of Burnet, Texas, Kevin Brinkley earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from Texas Tech University. He began his career with the National Cotton Council in 1989 and later held key roles at The Seam®, rising to CEO in 2015. Later that year, he was hired by PCCA’s Board of Directors as President & CEO.
Brinkley is committed to delivering value to PCCA’s members through innovation, strong cooperative relationships, and continued excellence in cotton marketing, warehousing, and software services. He also prioritizes supporting the next generation of farmers and enhancing supply chain performance.
During his tenure as Chairman of NCFC, Brinkley aims to enhance the perception of farmer cooperatives among stakeholders in government and business. NCFC represents all sizes and types of agricultural cooperatives. Commonly recognized members include CHS, Inc., Land O’ Lakes, CoBank, Ocean Spray, and many more.
“NCFC is the best hope for ag cooperatives to have strong representation to Congress and USDA,” said Brinkley. “My involvement with NCFC has an added bonus of raising the profile of cotton in the national conversation about commodities. I’m honored to be able to serve our industry in this role.”
What is NCFC?
The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives was established in 1929 as the voice of America’s farmer cooperatives. The organization’s mission is to advance the business and policy interests of America’s cooperatives and other farmer-owned enterprises. Its membership includes regional and national farmer co-ops, consisting of nearly 1,600 local farmer co-ops across the country. NCFC members also include state and regional cooperative councils. NCFC’s committees monitor legislative issues, advise farmer cooperatives, and guide efforts to promote sustainability programs.
