There are five vice presidents that make up the executive team at PCCA. Each plays a critical role in the execution of board directives and project success at this cooperative. Stoney Williams is PCCA’s Vice President of Accounting and Finance, and CFO. He oversees all of PCCA’s financial operations. Stoney has worked at PCCA for just over 10 years.
Get to know Stoney better in the following Q&A.
Were you raised in agriculture or the cotton industry?
I had family members who grew cotton, but my family has more of a ranching background with cattle and sheep. While I never really participated in ranching, I am currently heavily involved with my family in managing and preserving our land.
In your opinion, what makes PCCA special?
The fact that PCCA is owned by its members and operates to enhance their profitability, while offering products and services to support them, is an amazing concept. The whole cooperative model is truly remarkable.
What is the biggest advantage or benefit PCCA grower-owners receive by utilizing our services?
They benefit from the leverage and resources of PCCA, which, with its staff, contacts, and relationships, can deliver support and products that individuals might not have access to on their own or might not be available in the market.
How does PCCA add value to growers and gins?
PCCA defends the growers’ cotton prices, offers support to growers and their gins in nearly every way imaginable, and understands the challenges in agriculture, working to protect and support the industry and local communities.
What is something PCCA does that our growers or gins may not know much about?
PCCA puts a significant amount of time and energy into developing, designing, and supporting initiatives to enhance the services, products, and benefits the growers and gins use and need. It is something that is constantly happening at PCCA.
What is your hope for the future of PCCA?
I hope PCCA will continue to be the leading grower-owned marketing co-op, remain innovative in the industry, and continue to provide the support and services that producers and gins need to be successful in their operations.
Why are you proud to work for cotton farmers?
Cotton farmers are hardworking, honest, and selfless individuals. They execute a job invaluable to our way of life, yet often go unrecognized. Every day, they rise to face challenges that many would struggle to overcome—and they do it because they love what they do. I’m proud to be part of an organization that they own and to support them in any way I can.
