The results from the 2007 Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) contest are in, and PCCA has been recognized once again.
CCA is an organization of roughly 350 professionals who communicate for cooperatives. Every year, these communicators participate in the annual competition in several categories. These include writing, photography, publications, audio visuals, video, and other communication forms.
For the 2007 awards, there were 157 entries in the photography category. In the scenic/pictorial division Lynette Cockerell received honorable mention for her photograph, “Waiting.” In the photo illustration division, the front cover of PCCA’s 2005-2006 Annual Report placed third. Lastly, in the program and projects category there were 110 entries, and PCCA finished third with the DVD, “PCCA-The Only Supplier of Texas-Style Cotton You’ll Ever Need.”
This DVD has served PCCA well as a successful marketing tool distributed to potential customers. Its original purpose was for distribution at the 2006 Sourcing USA Summit held in Scottsdale, Ariz. The summit, hosted by Cotton Council International, is a chance for exporters and merchants to meet with textile executives from all over the world. At the summit, PCCA gave out over 200 DVDs to potential customers. It also was translated into Spanish, Turkish, and Mandarin for buyers in global markets. It continues to be a viable means of communication for selling our members’ cotton.
