PCCA members visiting the cooperative’s Member Access website will see some interesting changes. PCCA Vice President of Grower Services Dean Church said current users of Member Access were surveyed and asked what features they wanted to see on the web site, and many of the suggestions were implemented.
The Member Access was launched in 2003 to, among other things, assist members in making decisions concerning their cotton crops. The website began by providing members with current information regarding PCCA accounts, classing information, scale ticket information, and ginning summaries.
“We wanted to provide a site where our members could get a broad ‘snap shot’ without having to surf the web for several hours,” Church said.
Along with current news and cotton prices, the website will feature a weather link and high school sports scores, and “we hope to have online soon a classified section where members can post ads for anything from farm equipment to puppies,” Church added.
Colleen Sizemore, PCCA Grower Services representative, is excited about the changes. “I think it’s really great,” Sizemore said, “because we are providing a lot more information to our members.”
